Bogor Traditional Food : TAUGE GORENG Pak Raisan

Pak Raisan
If you come to the rainy city Bogor, there is one dish you have to try,  Tauge Goreng. There are many selling this dish in Bogor, the famous ones are Tauge Goreng Bogor Permai,  Tauge Goreng Pak Iwon,  Tauge Goreng Ngesti, but I find that Tauge Goreng made by Pak Raisan is special.  Beside its delicious taste, his friendliness and genuine smile to customers makes me come back to buy from him. That's probably the magnet that Pak Raisan has to attract customers.

From m it's name Tauge Goreng literally means fried Tauge (beansprout), but it's actually not fried at all and no cooking oil used to cook it. This dish is s named Tauge Goreng because it is cooked boiled on top of a pan with a spatula just like frying.  It consists of Tauge (beansprouts), tofu, ketupat (packed rice) and yellow noodle served with a special sauce made from oncom (fermented soya bean), tauco and soy sauce.  This thick and sour sauce has its own characteristics that you have to try.
Half of my Tauge Goreng LOL
Tauge Goreng is served on a normal plate, but if you order to bring home, it will be packaged inside banana leaves. The way they pack the Tauge Goreng is unique, usually they use a stick to hold the banana leaves together, but for Tauge Goreng it is tied at the top.
Gratis! i free stuff  LOL
My friends, Nata enjoyed Tauge Goreng and Nala had bowl of meatball

Located in Surya Kencana, this area is known as Bogor's China town.  There's many historical colonial era building still standing up to now. The area is crowded because of its proximity with Pasar Bogor (known as the central market in the middle of the city). Pak Raisan's stall is small, so if you want to savor this delicious Tauge Goreng, it's better if you come before it's crowded. Pak Raisan's stall is open from 10 am to 6 pm everyday. One portion of tauge goreng is Rp 8.000, so cheap yet delicious! He provides free tea, so it's suitable for you if you're on a budget.  It's more exciting if you come in the afternoon when it's raining, the sensation is awesome. Well, I cannot express it in words, you have to experience it yourself hehehe.

P. S. It is suitable for vegetarian
